NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER

National Day of Prayer: A Call to Unity and Intercession

The National Day of Prayer, observed annually on the first Thursday of May, is a vital time for believers across the United States to come together in unified, public prayer for our nation. Established by Congress and officially signed into law in 1952, this day is more than a tradition—it is a solemn invitation to seek God's guidance, mercy, and blessing over our land.

At its core, the National Day of Prayer is about humbling ourselves before God, acknowledging our need for His wisdom and direction in our personal lives, our communities, and in our nation's leadership. It is a moment where denominations and generations set aside differences to lift a unified voice to heaven.

For our church, participating in the National Day of Prayer is not just important—it is essential. It reflects our commitment to being a people of prayer, rooted in Scripture and obedient to God's command to "pray without ceasing" (1 Thessalonians 5:17). It is an opportunity to stand in the gap for our leaders, our families, our schools, and every aspect of society that needs God's touch.

This day reminds us that prayer is powerful. As James 5:16 declares, "The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective." When we join with others across the country in sincere prayer, we believe it moves the heart of God and can bring about real change.

We invite you to join us in prayer—not just on the National Day of Prayer, but as a lifestyle of intercession and faith. Let us be a church that prays boldly, loves deeply, and believes wholeheartedly that God is not finished with our nation.
